TED CRUZ for President—An Endorsement

Up until about a week ago, I, like many Americans, had hoped that the Republican Party would finally come to its senses and nominate two conservatives, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, for President and Vice-President, respectively.  This, of course, would be the Republicrat (sic) establishment’s worst nightmare.  For, if the Republicrat establishment hates anyone more than Donald Trump, it’s Ted Cruz.

But then, something happened.  Trump’s monstrous ego got in the way.  His “advisors” told him that he was behind in Iowa and might finish second to Cruz in that state’s first-in-the-nation caucus.  Fearing that possibility, Trump launched a deceitful and despicable personal attack on Cruz, including the nonsensical claim, based on outright lies by extreme left-wing lawyers, media talking heads, and assorted pundits,  that Cruz was somehow “ineligible” to be President.  Guess what,  Cruz was born in Canada to a mother who is and was a U.S. citizen.  That AUTOMATICALLY makes Cruz a NATIVE-BORN U.S. citizen.  Following these left-wing morons’ idiotic “logic” that Cruz is not a native-born  U.S. citizen, this would mean that if you were born while your mother was, say vacationing outside the United States, you were not a U.S. citizen.  It would also mean that George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson, were ineligible to be President, because they were born in Great Britain!

Most of Trump’s attacks, to date, are not only personal, but totally irrelevant, and completely miss the point.  For example, he attacked John McCain’s record as a POW (instead of his voting record in the U.S. Senate).  He attacked Jeb Bush for his “low energy” (instead of his ties to the Republicrat establishment).  He attacked Carly Fiorina for ‘her face” (instead of her shameful record as CEO of Hewlett Packard).  Parenthetically, Fiorina may be no glamour girl, but next to Hillary Clinton she is a beauty queen!

These attacks, while irrelevant, at least were directed at establishment “darlings”.  What is unacceptable is his attacks on conservatives, like Ben Carson, likening him to “a pedophile” at a time when Carson was doing well in the polls.  And now, the ugly attacks on Ted Cruz, calling him “a nasty guy” and saying that “nobody likes him”  This is part of Trump’s scorched earth policy to attack and destroy anyone and everyone who stands in the way of his Presidential ambitions.  One would expect these vicious attacks on conservatives from liepapers like The New York Times, The New York Post, the Washington Post, and others of their ilk.

Strangely enough, Trump has not criticized “The Amnesty Kid”. Marco Rubio, or Ohio Governor John Kasich, who is somewhere to the left of Bernie Sanders.  Perhaps it’s because his “advisors” have told him he must pick Rubio as Vice-President in order to make inroads into the Hispanic vote.  Or that he must pick Kasich because he is from a “battleground” state (Ohio).  Of course, either Rubio or Kasich would also placate the Republicrat establishment.  Maybe Trump should tell his advisors “you’re fired”!

Trump was right when he spoke about “building a wall” to keep illegal aliens and potential terrorists from invading our country.  He was right when he advocated the deportation of criminal illegal aliens.  Whether Donald Trump is a true conservative, or merely a “Donny-come-lately” remains to be seen.  But we do know that Ted Cruz is a real conservative who is not afraid to take on the Republicrat establishment and the Washington cartel, including traitors in his own party, like Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and Paul Ryan, in addition to the likes of Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, and John Kerry.

I may still vote for Trump in the general election, not out of admiration or enthusiasm,  but rather the thought of having a pathological liar like Hillary Clinton (who enabled her sexual predator husband Bill Clinton, who was complicit in the murder of four Americans in Benghazi, who knowingly broke the law relative to her classified e-mails) as President.

I have no such reservations about Ted Cruz.  He is the real deal!  I am proud to endorse Ted Cruz for President of the United States.
